B.Hall assignment #2

This article was written January 22, 2009 by Cindy Scoppe who is the Associate Editor of the State Newspaper. Scoppe is writing about the government and the economic struggle and downfall we are in. The basic arguement that Scoppe is trying to make is that the governments main purpose is to look out for society and common good. They are trying to do their best to help everyone. I think the government should look at where they are cutting some of the money because alot of people are taking advantage of the economy being down, such as applying for food stamps. Many families are able to get these food stamps due to job loss. Some families do however need this extra help, but there are those families who are using this to their advantage. I think Scoppe is trying to say that everyone needs to calm down and be paitent, that the government is trying to do the best they can to help the economy. It will all get better in time. Hopefully the government will make the right decisions to get us out of this downfall, get people their jobs back and get everybody back on their feet.
