The article: Government has to make choices families, businesses don't first appeared in The State. The article was written by Associate Editor Cindi Ross Scoppe. The article was written
to inform South Carolina citizens about the many budgetary shortfalls facing the state and the
country. The author uses analogies and bad ones at that to describe how complicated the situation is we are all in. What the author fails to realize is that analogies are not necessary. The factory worker who has just lost his job doesnt need to be told in layman terms about the harsh
realty he is about to face. The families that lost their homes do not need to look up the word homeless in the dictionary, they know the reality they are about to face. Like many and most,
Ms. Scoppe posses many questions and offers no answers. The financial disaster we are all facing
is not 100% big governments fault. We are all at fault, we allow companies to move overseas to seek out cheap labor and continue to purchase their products. Americans purchased homes they
could never afford. We elected a president who had down-syndrome, not once but twice.
We allowed our soldiers to be put in harms way unnecessarily.......but we did have enough wisdom to send Sarah Palin back to govern over the moose population in Alaska.
Welcome to America, our main export is debt.
