Published on February 4th, 2009 is a article dealing with the well talked about Stimulus Plan. The article “Trade-offs in the Stimulus Package” is written by Madison Powers. Madison Powers a CQ guest columnist who publishes for the QC Politics. Powers is a research scholar at Kennedy Institute of Ethics in Georgetown University.
A lot of Americans have constantly heard about the Stimulus Package being put together. Many Americans are for or against the Stimulus Package. However, Powers is gearing this article to those for and against the Stimulus Package. The article can help explain those who do not know much about the Stimulus Package understand. This article is directed more toward the working and middle class citizens. Powers tries to explain how the package is supposed to work. In the article it shows where the money could be going to. The package will affect certain areas such as unemployment, food stamps, and aid to the already hurting state and local governments. This day in time many families are fighting as hard as they can to save their house, cars, and feed their families. Within this package it will help more people get food stamps to feed their families. With the job loss so high this package will help people actually live and survive until they find a job or can get more hours. Powers would like the package to help those in desperate need. Those in need aren’t those making big bonus checks that are more than some people make in their life! People will continue to worry if the package will work and where all the money is going to. This is not some small loan for a car or house this is billions of dollars. If the problems are not fixed they will just keep growing and America might not get out of this huge problem.
I personally believe in the package long as its going to those who need it to live. Not keep their huge bonuses coming. Come on now people we are talking about millions of jobs lost this year something needs to be done.
