“Will: The continuing fall of federalism” by George F. Will, with the Washington Post was posted on Feb. 22, 2009. George is trying to reach the voting audience, an audience who cares about politics.
He wants to make people aware that Sen. Russ Feingold is trying to amend the 17th amendment, making it where the people will have the vote of who they elect for Senate office.
I do agree that the people should have a larger role in choosing the people for this position. However, I feel that 6 years is a sufficient amount of time to hold this position. When you switch these roles to often nothing gets accomplished. You just have a bunch of newly elected trying to undo the previously elected decisions.
