Cindi Ross Scoppe, an associate editor, for The State Newspaper, writes this article. The article was posted the day after Election Day, Jan. 22,2009. The title says it all, “Scoppe: Government has to make choices families, businesses don’t,” a well-written fact, which was ironically posted in the “opinion section” of the newspaper.
Scoppe’s argument simply states that the government has some tough decisions to make. The ultimate responsibility of the economy is lying in their hands. We can scream our opinions all day long, but the fact of the matter is the choice is left with the government.
Either way it goes someone is going to get hurt, the question is “who will it be?” No matter what the government decides to do, they cannot and will not satisfy everyone. However, I think it’s extremely important that all the options are way, and that the outcome favors the majority, not the wealthy!
