Assignment #1 S.Nelson

In the article 'Radical in the White House', Thomas L. Friedman writes about the recent election of our president Barack Obama. America has come a long way to put racial issues aside and elect an African American as president. This article appeared in The New York Times on January 21,2009, the day after our new President was inaugurated. Mr. Friedman talked about the problems that our nation is facing and hopes that we will soon overcome them with our new leader. He also states that he hopes that President Obama is a radical, to make the changes that we need. Our country is in for big changes that we do need. Once again the youth of our nation have been called upon to help make the change. This is a crucial time in America and we do need radical change. I hope that everyone will support our new President as well stride forward in this new era. As we have heard the whole campaign, YES WE CAN!
