The article was written to inform American voters about how Senator Russ Feingold wants senate vacancies to be filled by voters rather than by governors. I cant say I support the Feingold amendment 100% but why not put the power back into the hands of the people. Lets be honest, those appointed to the senate by governors are not appointed because of what they know but rather for who they know. In all likelyhood Rob Blagojevich is not the first governor to benefit or profit from a vacant senate seat. And we really can do without anymore Kennedy's coming out and whining about a sense of entitlement.
