Assignment #5 S.Nelson

In the article Will:The continuing fall of federalism, George Will targets the voting population. This article was published February 22, 2009 in the Washington Post. This article is about the 17th amendment and whether we should keep it the same or amend it. The 17th amendment is about who should elect the legislature, the state or the people. Because not all of governors make the best decisions some think it should be up to the people that they represent. Of course the states want to make these decisions so they can have the power. I think that the people should elect our senators. They are supposed to represent us and if we vote on them they will. It is a shame that a Governor would sell a senate seat to the highest bidder. This just shows what our government is all about. Not to say they are all bad but we look to them to run our country and they are trying to make a quick dollar. Instead of worrying about the 17th amendment I think we should worry whether we will have a job tomorrow or whether will we eat.
